Marriage certificate translation for Singapore applications.

Foreign marriage certificates — most commonly from China, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines — are required when a spouse applies for PR, a Long-Term Visit Pass or a dependant's pass, and when you register or dissolve a marriage in Singapore.

Quick answer: Bablio translates and certifies foreign marriage certificates for spouse PR, Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) and dependant's pass applications, ROM/ROMM marriage registration and divorce proceedings. Certificates not in English need a complete certified English translation; ICA PR and LTVP submissions also require notarisation, which we arrange for you. From S$68, mostly same or next working day.

About this service

When you marry in Singapore, or apply to bring your spouse into Singapore as a PR, LTVP or dependant's-pass holder, ICA and the Registry of Marriages need proof of the marriage. A foreign marriage certificate not in English has to be translated into a certified English version.

Marriage certificates often carry two languages, official seals and stamps, and registration numbers — we preserve the structure and every marking so the translation is read as a faithful copy of the original, not a summary.

For ICA PR and LTVP applications the translation must be notarised. For a Singapore court or a divorce proceeding it may need to be notarised too, and for use overseas an SAL apostille is often attached. We arrange the notarisation and legalisation as part of your order.

How it works

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the marriage certificate translated if it's already partly in English?

If the certificate is not wholly in English, the non-English portions must be covered by a complete certified translation. Even bilingual certificates often need a certified English rendering of the foreign-language fields.

Do you translate marriage certificates from China, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines?

Yes. Those are among our most common foreign marriage certificates, and we translate from any language into any other, over 100 languages in total.

Is notarisation required for a marriage certificate for ICA?

For ICA PR and LTVP applications the translation must be notarised (or issued or attested by the issuing country's embassy). We arrange the notarisation for you.

Can the same translation be used for ROM and for ICA?

Each receiving authority has its own formatting requirement, so we format the translation to the authority you are submitting to and confirm the exact chain (certified, notarised, or apostilled) before you pay.
