1. Who we are

Bablio provides certified document translation, notarisation and Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) legalisation services in Singapore. In this Policy, "Bablio", "we", "us" or "our" means the organisation operating this website and providing the services you request. Bablio is a registered Singapore local company. Our Data Protection Officer (DPO) and data-protection contact is info@bablio.io. References to "affiliated companies" mean companies under the same group or common ownership as Bablio.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us, information collected automatically, and information from third parties, as follows:

  • Details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, the documents you upload for translation, any note you add about your documents, and the purpose, language and service options you select.
  • Payment details: when you pay, our payment provider (Stripe) processes your card, PayNow or other payment method on our behalf. We do not store your card number or full payment credentials. We receive only the payment status, a transaction or order reference, the amount paid, and limited billing details needed to process and account for your order.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and how you use the site, and advertising identifiers, collected through cookies, analytics and advertising tools.
  • Information from other sources: where you reach us through an advertising campaign, we may receive campaign identifiers (such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok or Microsoft click IDs) associated with your visit.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to provide and improve our services, including to:

  • prepare your quote, process your order and deliver your translation and any notarisation or legalisation;
  • communicate with you about your order, including by email, phone or WhatsApp;
  • process payments and prevent fraud;
  • provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
  • improve our website, services and marketing, including by measuring the performance of our advertising;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. Sharing information with our affiliated companies

We may share the information you provide (including your name, contact details, order details, payment status and reference, and the documents you submit) with our affiliated companies, meaning companies under the same group or common ownership as Bablio. These include companies that provide related immigration, documentation, notarisation and consultancy services, based in Singapore and, where your order requires it, in other countries.

We share this information for two separate purposes, with different consequences:

  • Processing your order and providing customer support (necessary). This sharing is necessary to complete and support the service you have asked us to provide. If you do not agree to this sharing, we may be unable to process or support your order.
  • Improving our group's services (optional, with consent). This sharing is separate and optional. We will only share your information for this purpose where you have given us consent — for example, by ticking the optional consent box at checkout. You may withdraw this consent at any time, and doing so will not affect our ability to process your order.

Our affiliated companies are subject to the same confidentiality and data-protection obligations as Bablio and are bound by this Policy. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

5. Confidentiality of your documents

Your documents are treated as confidential. We handle them securely and only disclose or use them to complete the services you have requested, or as described in this Policy. This means your documents may be shared with our affiliated companies, translators, notaries, payment and hosting providers, and relevant authorities, only as needed to process your order and as described in this Policy. Where you need additional protections for corporate or legal work, we can provide a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on request.

6. Other parties we share information with

We share information with the following types of parties where needed to operate our services and meet legal requirements:

  • Payment processors such as Stripe, to process your payment securely;
  • Translators, notaries and other service providers involved in completing your order;
  • Government authorities such as ICA, MOM, LTA or the Singapore Academy of Law where required to process or legalise your documents;
  • Analytics and advertising providers such as PostHog, Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and Microsoft, to measure and improve our site and marketing;
  • Cloud hosting, email and storage providers who host our systems on our behalf.

Where we engage third parties to process your information, they are permitted to use it only to provide the service to us and are required to protect it appropriately.

7. Transfers of your information overseas

Some of our service providers and affiliated companies may be located outside Singapore. Where we transfer your personal information overseas, we will ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to that required under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act — for example, by using contractual safeguards or transferring only to parties bound by equivalent confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We do not transfer your information overseas except where necessary to provide our services or as permitted by law.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, remember your preferences and understand how visitors use our site. We also use analytics and advertising tools to measure performance and improve our marketing. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

9. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Where you upload documents, they are retained only for as long as needed to complete your order and for our record-keeping, and are then deleted or anonymised. Backups are retained only for the period needed to support our systems and are subject to the same security controls.

10. Data security and data breaches

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we review and update our safeguards as needed. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) as required by law.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, including Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you have the right to:

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • ask us to stop sharing your information with our affiliated companies, including withdrawing consent to the optional "improve our group's services" sharing;
  • ask us to delete or limit the use of your information, where required by law;
  • withdraw any consent you have given, where our processing is based on consent.

Please note the difference between the two types of sharing above: refusing the necessary order-processing and support sharing may mean we are unable to process or support your order, because that sharing is required to provide the service. Withdrawing consent to the optional group-improvement sharing will not prevent us from processing your order; it only means we will stop sharing your information for that optional purpose. In either case, we will still retain and use your information where we have a legitimate or legal basis to do so.

12. How to access or correct your information and make a complaint

To exercise any of your rights, to ask a question about this Policy, or to make a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp — see the FAQ or the contact options on our order page, or email info@bablio.io. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) at www.pdpc.gov.sg.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Please review this Policy regularly.
